Adrian Mateos won the $250,000 Super High Roller at the World Series of Poker. The event drew 56 entries and the prize pool reached $13,720,000. Notably, the Spaniard busted on day one, getting it in with AK for 100 BB against Christoph Vogelsang's KK, after which he re-entered the tournament.

Over the course of the final table, Mateos knocked out Samuel Mullur and Sean Winter, and also held with pocket tens against Jason Koon's AK. In the heads-up, the 31-year-old Spaniard faced Bryn Kenney, who held the chip lead. Mateos quickly pulled ahead, making a straight on the turn. And in the decisive hand the Spanish pro with ♣️2️⃣ flopped two pair on a ♥️♠️♣️ board. Kenney with ♥️♦️ called his opponent's all-in, but the ♦️ turn and ♦️ river didn't improve his hand.

Adrian Mateos took the top prize of $4,334,411 and became the youngest six-time WSOP champion. Over the past month the Spaniard has earned more than $10,000,000 — in May he won the $200,000 high roller at Triton Poker in Montenegro, taking $6,370,000.
"It's crazy. Before the Triton trip I was in a downswing for about a year, losing in every live tournament. But I kept working hard and showing good results online. I trusted the process and kept sitting down at the table. Now I've got a month-long upswing, I've won a lot of money, and I'm very happy about it," Mateos told PokerNews after the win.
