Player busts out of WSOP tournament after dealer error

Please keep the kids away from the screens — this is going to hurt. Ricky Landis' deep run in the $10,000 GGMillion$ High Roller at the World Series of Poker came to an end after a dealer error. There were 22 players left in the field. Landis moved all-in with A♠️K♣️ against Bobby James' A♦️9♠️. On the flop the American hit top pair with top kicker, but the dealer laid out four cards instead of three.

The floor got involved and decided to shuffle all the flop cards together and remove one of them at random. The card that got removed was precisely the king Landis had hit. And on the river James completed... a straight.

What's more, the king had originally been in the middle of the board, meaning it was supposed to land on the flop no matter what. One of the broadcast commentators said it was one of the worst situations he had ever seen.

Ricky Landis left the tournament in 22nd place and earned $41,942. We'll note that later, with the same payout but this time without any dealer errors, WSOP champions Barak Wisbrod and Michael Moncek busted out. Russian Artem Ryabov finished 15th and took home $51,258.

Tell us in the comments if you've had situations that hurt even more — we'll commiserate with sad emojis 🥲
