Britney Zing: "My removal from the stream was unfair"

Britney Zhang: "My removal from the stream was unfair"

Britney Zhang issued a statement regarding her removal from the Hustler Casino Live stream, which was held as part of the World Series of Poker. On June 6, the poker player was pulled from the game after the financial control department intervened due to her buying chips with cash instead of a bank transfer. By that point, she had lost around $100,000 over two hours at the table.

Zhang posted on Instagram, calling the rumors about the origin of her funds false, and emphasized that the casino staff acted unfairly toward her.
"The funds I used to pay for the buy-in were entirely legal and verifiable. The check I used was backed by funds I had won from legal blackjack at MGM shortly before the session.

The source of these funds is unambiguous, properly documented, and can be confirmed through the casino's records. Any insinuation that the funds came from an improper or questionable source is simply untrue.

At the same time, I understand and respect the importance of casino compliance procedures. However, the way [the organizers] handled this situation was unfair and left me confused."

In addition, Zhang stated that the compliance issue should have been resolved before she entered the game. The poker player also demanded that the WSOP explain the staff's actions in this situation.
"If there really was a compliance issue, it should have been resolved before I was allowed to pay the buy-in and participate, not after the game had started and large sums of money were already in play. Players deserve clear, consistent, and transparent rules before they are asked to risk their money.

If the WSOP's position now is that I should never have been allowed to play at all, then I believe the WSOP bears responsibility for clearly explaining the following:
🟣 What specific rule or policy was applied;
🟣 Why this issue wasn't raised before I was allowed to sit down at the table;
🟣 Why I was given approval to play, only for my participation to subsequently be deemed illegal;
🟣 And how they intend to fairly resolve this situation, including the return or proper accounting of any funds, fees, and checks that should not have been accepted."

Game runner Ryan Feldman, in a comment to Poker.org, said that the decision to remove Britney Zhang from the stream may have been made by a higher-up staff member:
"Britney did exactly what she was told. But someone else from another department or a higher-up decided to pull her from the game. Going forward, games like this may run into similar issues, but I hope things will get simpler over time."
