The Solana blockchain has become the title sponsor of the World Series of Poker. As part of this partnership, cryptocurrency will be integrated into the gaming ecosystem. From this day on, poker players for the first time in history can pay buy-ins for WSOP events with cryptocurrency via Solana. Moreover, no fee will be charged for using this payment method.

The blockchain integration will expand during the WSOP Paradise festival in the Bahamas at the end of the year. There, players will be able to receive payouts in Solana-based stablecoins. According to the World Series of Poker, this should ease some of the issues associated with international settlements and provide nearly instant access to payouts.

In addition, the WSOP television studio will take on Solana's signature purple color right up until the start of the Main Event, and the hosts of the daily Countdown show will go on air in purple suits. The blockchain will also organize exclusive guest events at the Horseshoe and Paris casinos in Las Vegas and at WSOP Paradise.

"We are incredibly proud to attract such an innovative and passionate community. The Solana ecosystem, like the WSOP, constantly challenges established standards and consistently focuses on the consumer experience. Solana's speed and efficiency reflect the fast-paced energy of our tournaments, and we are excited to showcase their technology to our global audience,"  — commented WSOP CEO Ty Stewart on the partnership.
