Juan Rodriguez wins $673,011 and his first WSOP bracelet in the Seniors High Roller
52-year-old Peruvian poker player Juan Rodriguez has won the $5,000 Seniors High Roller event at WSOP 2026. For first place he took home $673,011 in prize money and the first bracelet of his career.
In the final hand the players got all-in preflop: Rodriguez with ♣️♣️ against ♦️♥️ of Nariman Yaghmai. The Peruvian was behind his opponent on the flop and turn, but a king caught on the river handed him the championship title amid the deafening roar of his rail.
For Peru this is the third bracelet in WSOP history. Rodriguez himself was born in Peru and has lived in the US since the age of 20, but he retains his citizenship and regularly visits his homeland. Until this moment the player's best result in live tournaments had been a modest $47,000.
Rodriguez dedicated the trophy to himself, and promised to spend the winnings on his family — first and foremost to buy his little son Max new toys from his favorite cartoon, "Toy Story".
