Joao Simao wins his fourth bracelet in the $50,000 High Roller PLO
The $50,000 High Roller Pot-Limit Omaha event has wrapped up at the World Series of Poker. The win went to Joao Simao, who captured his fourth bracelet. The Brazilian pro beat a field of 110 players and took home the top prize of $1,368,700, pushing his career earnings past $20,000,000.
In the heads-up, Simao denied Santhosh Suvarna a second title of the series. The Indian high roller began the showdown against the Brazilian as the chip leader, and even built his chip advantage to five to one, but everything changed on one big pot. Simao took 10 million chips, making a full house against his opponent's trip kings, and moved into the lead.
Soon Suvarna went all-in with ♥️♣️♣️♠️, and Simao called with ♠️♣️♥️♣️. The flop ♦️♥️♥️ gave the Brazilian top set, and the Indian player a straight draw. The turn ♣️ added outs for Suvarna, but the river came ♥️, and Simao took the bracelet. The Indian high roller earned $912,420 for second place.
Joao Simao won his first bracelet online in 2021, taking down the $1,111 Caesarc Cares Charity Event. In 2022 the Brazilian won the $5,000 Mixed NLH/PLO, and in 2025 he won the $150,000 Triton 8-Handed at WSOP Paradise. It's worth noting that the Omaha high roller money also included Daniel Negreanu (11th place, $107,940), Jason Koon (14th place, $102,800) and Jeremy Ausmus (15th place, $102,800).
