Jason Koon vs. Andrew Robl's pocket kings
The Triton Poker festival in Montenegro is currently running its final Omaha events, and on top of that there was a No-Limit Hold'em cash game with a $100,000 buy-in and a star-studded lineup. At the table sat Jason Koon, Wong Ye, Paul Phua, Rui Cao, Alejandro Lococo, Chan Wai Leong, Andrew Robl and Egyptian billionaire Sameh Elamawy.
In one of the hands, Robl with pocket kings clashed with Koon, who turned out to have Q♥️J♥️. Already on the Q♦️Q♠️4♣️ flop Koon made trip queens and gained the edge. The 10♦️ turn also brought Robl nothing, but he decided to go all-in. Koon called almost without thinking, and after the 3♥️ river he took down $206,000, doubling his bankroll.
Robl ended up finishing the game with the biggest loss ($338,000), but remained the chip leader ($1,662,000). Koon, with a profit of $320,000, made it into the top three winning players, trailing only Paul Phua (+$397,000) and Chan Wai Leong (+$557,000).
