Andrey Pateychuk comments on his CoinPoker ban

EPT and WPT champion Andrey Pateychuk confirmed that he received a ban on CoinPoker for using prohibited software in the heads-up of a tournament where he finished second and won $225,000. The Russian regular admitted that he used charts during play, but noted that he had prepared them himself several years ago. The player explained his actions by fatigue after a 12-hour stream and a loss of concentration.

"These are static charts that I calculated myself about 5 years ago in SimplePreflop, and based on them I made some very simplified little tables — one size + all-in, a rough breakdown by stacks in the form of screenshots of the initial preflop actions, rather than the whole trees in their entirety."

In addition, Pateychuk emphasized that he immediately contacted CoinPoker ambassador Pads after the first cheating accusations appeared and confessed to using charts. The regular also stated that he is ready to undergo all the necessary checks and denied accusations of using GTO Wizard or other real-time assistants.

"This whole situation could well be a nominee for the poker Darwin Award, because I essentially shot myself in the foot twice — first I used charts on stream, which were part of the reason I lost the HU for 75k, and on top of that I caused myself irreparable reputational damage."

"I regret what happened and want to apologize to the community. I understand that I made a big mistake and a complete folly. Once again, I'm ready for absolutely any additional checks — hand history reviews, any inspections of the computer for possible third-party software, GTO Wizard checks, and anything else."

The accusations against Pateychuk were brought forward in early June by Rinat Lyapin, who published screenshots and fragments of the regular's stream in which he gets distracted by a laptop during heads-up. The laptop screen showing ranges also got caught in the reflection of a mirror standing behind the player. The day before, information appeared that CoinPoker had completed its investigation of the situation and banned Pateychuk.
