Santosh Suvarna won the largest pot in High Stakes Poker history
In the sixth episode of Season 16 of High Stakes Poker, the largest pot in the show's history was played. At the table were Andrew Robl, William Tjokroprawiro, Daniel Tang, Alan Keating, Sameh Elamawy, Santosh Suvarna, DraftKings co-founder Matt Kalish and Sam "Señor Tilt" Quiqui.
The hand began with Suvarna's straddle of $4,000. Quiqui raised to $20,000, Kalish called, and Elamawy bet $2,000. Still on the preflop, the Indian high roller 3-bet to $100,000, and all three of his opponents called. On the ♣️♦️♦️ flop, Suvarna had pocket queens, Quiqui had ♠️♦️ and Kalish had ♦️♦️. Only Elamawy, who held ♠️♠️, didn't connect with the board and quickly folded.
Suvarna bet $125,000 and got a call from Quiqui. Kalish decided to go all-in for $948,000. The Indian regular, who had the biggest stack, called, and Señor Tilt folded. The two remaining players continued to battle for the $2,421,500 pot.
Suvarna and Kalish agreed to run the turn and river twice. The first time, the ♠️ and ♠️ came out, and Suvarna made a full house. And on the second deal, the ♥️ and ♠️ didn't improve anyone, and the Indian player took down the largest pot in High Stakes Poker history.
The previous HSP record was set in 2025, when Alan Keating won a $1,400,000 hand. Santosh Suvarna had earlier won his third WSOP bracelet in the $50,000 8-Max High Roller, and later lost $1,147,500 in the Million Dollar Game.
